The village of Bironico is a pretty hamlet of the municipality of Monteceneri, created in 2010 by the merger of the municipalities of Bironico, Camignolo, Medeglia, Rivera and Sigirino. Strategically located near the pre-Alpine pass of Monte Ceneri that divides Ticino into Sotto- and Sopraceneri and thus along the main north-south ridge, Bironico is in an area surrounded by much greenery and at the same time within easy reach of both Lugano and Bellinzona.
